Sakura & Arturia’s playtime

Here we are at home, with a visitor of my friend and his Sakura to play with Arturia. Since they both have aprons of sorts, why not exploit it?

Not much explaining to do with this photoshoot, other than the backdrop could of been a little more classy… sorry about that ^^;

Again, with most of the photoshoots, I could really use a tripod.
Unfortunately for me, most of my spare funds go into figure collecting and bills.

Earlier in the day we were supposed to go outdoors with another friend (who is a regular on my outdoor photoshoot trips) to take some photos….but Melbourne being Melbourne, it was raining slightly throughout the day. So we had to cancel the photoshoot and do some other errands before going home…in the last 20 metres to the door it was raining cats and dogs @_@

Next up is the rescheduled photoshoot of the two lil girls in better weather conditions~

Evelyn’s new look

Well, these photos have been taken some time ago so I’m not so sure if you could consider this “new”.
Nonetheless, here’s Evelyn in her gorgeous scarlet dress.

The clothes, wig and glasses were bought in Japan at the Volks showroom in Akihabara during the mad rush of Dollpa 22 Afterevent. Got there at approx 6am….and there was already a line there >.<
The MP5 was purchased on the second day of the Volks Kyoto showroom grand opening, which was our second day in Japan as well…or was it third? ^^;
The Glock 17 was bought locally from a hobby store :3
Her corset and boots are kindly borrowed from her roommate Arturia.
The stockings were kindly sent from HLJ with the help of Danny Choo :3

ToHeart2 Dollfie Cosplay

A while ago Danny Choo hosted the Miss Dollfie Summer 2009 event, and he has managed to secure some items as prizes too. One of which was the ToHeart2 clothes set by Azone courtesy of Hobby Link Japan.
Today we’ll be seeing Evelyn and Arturia as they try on some clothes they’ve never been in with the help of each other :3

I must say, it was quite embarrassing taking these photos, even when no one was watching me like the usual outdoor shots ^^;

Lengthy delays

*sigh*
It’s come to my attention that I can’t really keep this site as updated as I used to because of uni work.
While the blog isn’t dead, it could sure be much more lively lol.

So what can you expect?
Well, the blog will continue in this dreary path for perhaps the rest of this year. I’ll be sure to post more often once the heavy load of my studies subside. OTL

On a side note, as some of you may know, even more Dollfies announced by Volks.

Newish stuff

Figures everywhere!

Since this blog was inactive for quite some time, I think it’s a good idea to show off some of the new figure additions! This also gives me a chance to ask you guys which figures you would like to see featured in future photo shoots as well. Some of these figures can be classified as “old”, but I did receive them within the last few months ^^;;

Before I start I’d like to take this time to thank pp of Otakurean for sending me this lovely clearfile of Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na (The bright blue light before the dawn). I know it’s been months since I actually got this prize, and it’s been a looooooooong time coming. So, thank you pp~ :3

Figure Acquisitions

Since I have some spare time, I decided to show you guys the new stuff I’ve gotten over the past few months. Surprisingly I’ve managed to keep the figure purchases steady, I had to cancel a few figures since I was running low on cash and not to mention the falling Aussie dollar =/

Mikumikumiku, I snagged the Max Factory and Volks figures of Miku, but in the end I parted with the Volks to a friend of mine. I still hope that Max Factory could make a Haku Yowane figure ;_;

Blanc Neige was kind of an impulse buy for me, but her hips are…are just so distracting! She accompanies the old Max Factory Kureha on my shelf. Seriously… look at those hips! *drools*

One of the most expensive and biggest figure in my collection, second only to my Dollfie. Asakura is part of the FREEing 1/4 scale bunny girl set of The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi series. She was shipped, and subsequently paid for on the day that the Aussie dollar fell to 55 Japanese yen… ;_; paincakes were had.

Griffon figures can be hit and miss for me, so this Sasara was a pleasant surprise to me when she arrived in her school swimsuit and maid apron. Her delicious pose just makes my skin tingle with anticipation….of…something… o_O

Nekomimi Nono Nekomiya in mizugi. I just LOVE cats, and thus nekomimi has a special place in my heart, so I couldn’t resist this figure. Now, some of you may notice a school swimsuit trend, but I assure you it isn’t a huge fetish of mine XD

Shana’s first appearance in my figure collection! With this particular figure, they released a regular version, and two store exclusive versions. The regular was the black haired beauty, one was a pink haired and blue uniform with striped stockings which has a resemblance to Alice in Wonderland. This version you see is the Strawberry Version exclusive to the GEE! online store. Not sure why strawberry as it could prolly be more appropriately be called Cherry or Peach…. but oh well~

iDOLM@STER

Alter released the second half of the FA4 iM@S trading figures a while back, so now I managed to grab myself a full set of the girls! Well, at least the black version of the set ^^; These trading figures are quite the build, and I must say Alter has done an excellent job on these.

Max Factory has also released Miki Hoshii in two versions, the blonde in green, and the brunette in blue. I opted for the blonde since I’m a sucker for Miki in blonde. The friend who has been supplying me with most of these figures went for the brunette, so if we ever get bored we could always trade XD

Kaiyodo’s latest iM@S Fraulein girl to take the stage is also Miki Hoshii. I had to grab her to produce the various poses I had imagined. She comes with an additional head for those who love the brown, and since they are using the Revoltech joints I used a spare Saber Alter body XD

Nanoha StrikerS

Reinforce Zwei! I love this lil figure and it’s mini-ness. It’s like a 1/1 scale of her XD I’m not a huge fan of the StrikerS season, but Reinforce is so cute!

Hayate has recently come out as a figure as well, and in my opinion she’s aged the best >.> She also comes with a mini-mini-boss! Reinforce is even smaller now. Alter has done a nice job of sculpting and painting the really tiny figure, it’s about the same size of those Warhammer miniatures! Hayate’s box is also a force to be reckoned with. It’s even bigger than the massive Fate Testarossa box!! Now where to find space to put the box…

Alice in ???

Alter has been doing the 3D incarnations of the POP Wonderland series, and I decided to pick one up! The photo is a lil bland so it does little to bring out the wonder~

Alice from Queen’s Blade was love at first sight, I remember picking up the Hobby Japan magazine…or was it Dengeki Hobby… and seeing the first unpainted prototype. That point on I was watching the pre-order scene with the eyes of an eagle. And here she is.

Queen’s Figures

Speaking of Queen’s Blade, Ymir has been released as a black coloured princess now. I couldn’t resist at the time, so I had to pay for her presence. As like the regular version, she can undress nearly everything, even her pantsu! o_o

Next up is the Hobby Japan magazine exclusive Queen’s Gate Ink-tan from Moetan! I had to cut a tiny lil stamp out from the Hobby Japan magazine and send it to a friend of mine in Japan….express…since the cut off date was approaching. Which means that huge envelope in the background with ALL THOSE STAMPS was used to deliver a stamp the size of my thumb…

Queen’s Gate Ink-tan is awesome! Lots of her armour is cast off and it shows, her armour was practically falling off when I try to get her to grip those button batons. It’s highly distracting trying to do something when you get constant mune flashes @_@

Mecha Musume

Aaah, how I love Mecha Musume~ I just had to buy these two figures when I saw them, not to mention they’re both based on Shimada Fumikane’s artwork of Sky Girls/Strike Witches fame.

The M4A1 Early Type Sherman “Elizabeth” has a lot of accessories, you can even de-mechanise her but…why would I do that? o_O Her nonchalant expression is big boon for me :3

The Kawasaki Ki-100 Type 5 Fighter, the main appeal was admittedly the cast off feature >.> BUT her fierce gaze was also appealing for me :3

Blackout

A few months ago my apartment had a blackout and I had nothing to do… so I decided to take a few photos for the hell of it. My room has changed a bit since then…more figures…less ceiling space for posters… I also took a few photos of Saber, and it turned out somewhat ok, so I decided to share it here too~

Photo shoot choice

With all these bland photos, I was wondering which of these figures you people would really like to see in a photo shoot, mind you, I tend to do outdoor ones XD
I’ve updated the poll which should appear shortly on the blog as well, so please have your say :3
I’ll see which figures on the poll have a higher demand so I’ll place a higher priority on them when I decide to go on a photo shoot~

Biiiig delay since my last photo shoot. I still have some more goodies for this blog incoming as well :3
The past few weeks have been choking up my free time so I’m sorry about the lack of activity, and especially about not being able to visit other blogs, I feel like I’m neglecting a lot of you out there @_@;;

Without much more to say, on with the show!

I’ve bought some new clothes for Evelyn a while ago, a pair of white stockings, and an Alice in Wonderland clothes set (grey type) from HLJ.com by Azone International, the company that produces clothes and accessories mainly for Obtisu 60cm dolls.

I do like the new socks I got for her, they’re nice and white and cover up the dolljoint ^^; Not that I don’t like dolljoints that much, but I just love stockings on girls :3

This wasn’t really a proper photo shoot, considering all I did was take pictures of Evelyn in my room with no regard to artistic values…sorry ^^;
But I do hope you enjoy the new clothes she has, ideally I’d take a photo of her outdoors in some sort of park setting, preferably with hedges XD however I’m still a lil hesitant on bringing her outside without a proper carrying case, and I’m still too shy to actually carry her in full view either ^^;

The next photo shoot I’ll be posting up will be Lucy maid ver. from ToHeart2, look forward to that :3

Yuki Nagato Dollfie Dream II

Yay! I managed to get this done earlier than I thought, so here it is, some heavily stylised photos of the Evelyn, the Yuki Nagato Dollfie Dream II.

She still only has the clothes that came packaged with her, so I couldn’t really do much else. Extra clothes are on the way though, so maybe a lil variety will cheer her up.

A word of warning before we move on, if you’re not a fan of doll joints, you may want to reconsider reading on, otherwise read on!

Location

I’ve still yet to get a carry case for Evelyn, so I can’t really take her outside without drawing attention (if I was a girl it’d be a different matter) so I had to make do at home. Evelyn is featured here on… my bed ^^; My room is pretty cluttered so it wasn’t the best choice. This was more for experimentation rather than a full blown photo shoot.

Setting

Oh god, getting the camera to take decent photos indoors is hell with this aged camera. The lighting is quite hard to work with, and setting a mini-tripod on the bed isn’t the most stable thing lol. No one was at home so I didn’t get interrupted for the shoot, I wonder what my mother would think…?

I’ve tried to keep the visible doll joints to a minimum with clothing and poses, but there are some. For those who have a doll joint fetish, sorry lol.

Figure

Ok, so this isn’t really a “figure” in our sense. For those unfamiliar with Dollfies, there’s a very brief rundown in my previous post. The build of Evelyn is quite remarkable, being a vinyl dollfie instead of the traditional resin makes her really light weight, and squishy (yes, even her “eyes” are squishy).

Another difference is her inner frame, as most ball joint dolls (BJDs) are strung with internal elastic fibres. What that means is that Evelyn is able to keep her pose easier than other BJDs. Her field of movement is quite limiting tho, she can’t really reach her own mouth, I’m not quite sure if it’s just me, or if the dollfie requires modding to make this happen.

Thoughts

As mentioned, was quite difficult to get decent shots, I’m not sure if my camera is showing it’s age. Had to throw out obviously blurred shots while I was taking this photo shoot. I also didn’t want Evelyn wearing the uniform since I think I can find a much more suitable place for that instead of my room, so I went for something more… casual XD

The photos themselves have been modified extensively, tried to go for a more stylised look, whether this is a good or bad thing I’m still not sure lol.
I hope no one is greatly offended by this photo shoot, but given the audience of PVC lovers, I don’t think it’s a major concern ^^; Tell me otherwise if it is tho.

Summary

Quite an experimental photo shoot, larger subject, heavy manipulation and indoors. I’m quite happy on how it turned out, though I’m still not sure if its good. I would love to get a DSLR and start furthering my skills in macro shots, but alas, money is the issue as it always is. Perhaps if I stop buying so many figures…or start selling some of the ones I own.

Old Package

Smoked Cheese?

I couldn’t blog about this the day I got it since I was really busy with an assessment (which was due today!), so here it is. Received this on the 13th, which is a while since it was released before then. You may of heard I had some troubles with HLJ’s shipping as it was supposed to be shipped with another figure for a friend of mine, but it was sold out =/

Where’s Tsuruya??
Well, she’s here, being played with Evelyn (the Yuki Dollfie…yes, I named her…yes, I scare myself sometimes)

Tsuruya by Max Factory is quite nice, it even comes with cat ears, tail and a extra hand. I’ll talk about this figure in detail with the photo shoot, which I may be a while with the way my workload is at the moment >.<

So ya, I’m sorry about the slow updates, especially since the updates aren’t even outdoor photo shoots ^^;
Hopefully I can do something about it over the coming weeks, I’ll try to squeeze in time for it. I do however, have some photos of Evelyn, tho they are somewhat….ecchi , but not that ecchi. Here’s a preview anyway:

I dunno if I should do this like a glamour photo shoot, the original photos aren’t too great since they’re taken indoors, and knowing my horrible indoor lighting it isn’t a surprise ^^; But I think I might be overdoing it a lil…. any comments?

Other news, there’s going to be TWO new iDOLM@STER releases for Ace Combat 6, Mirage 2000-5 “Yayoi” and F-22 “Haruka“….there goes 800 M$ points >.<

Singles awareness day…

Happy late Valentines!

I know I’m late, but that’s what I do best :3
For those lucky couples, Valentines is a great day to spend together, whether it be to have a nice picnic, go out for a shopping spree, watch a movie, go to the beach or just cuddle up in bed.

For those unlucky enough (either by choice or not) to not have a partner, Valentines can be just another day, a day of roneryness, a day of envy or just a reflection of just how messed up your love life has been XD

I’ve started uni, meaning most of my time will have to be devoted to it. This WILL have an impact on how much I update, I know I don’t update a lot anyway, so this may make my blog somewhat stale ;_;

I will try my best to get photo shoots done during my midday breaks and weekends/holidays. Perhaps I could even incorporate some of it into my uni work, who knows?

Problem figures

Ok, I has a problem!
Today I found out that my Max Factory Tsuruya has a problem from HLJ, seems like they have misplaced her or something…
This can mean just a simple delay for me, or it could mean that I’ll have to find another source for Tsuruya-san ;_;

Hopefully it won’t be much of a problem, since right now my net is capped (slowed down because of download limits) AND I’ve had to wait for my new debit card (last one expired) which means a few days without being able to access my account statistics (I NEED TO KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY I HAVE!!!). Oh well…

And now a lil thought about Valentines day, isn’t it sad that my only valentines is Evelyn:
